It is hard to believe that Microsoft introduced Windows 95 in 1995 (hence the name) and time has flown by. Windows 95 had a menu at the bottom. Before that we had Windows that simply "floated" on the desktop. Windows 95 gave us the menu bar and start button on the bottom. Users now had a place to start! As a trainer, it made teaching beginners much easier.
This is the crowded "Windows" screen before Windows 95.
So happy birthday windows. Here is a silly video that Microsoft created to promote Windows 95.

Stories of EdTech Innovation
Did you know that the Department of Education has a website set up for Educational Technology?
The page has many interesting areas, but I particularly enjoy the sharing our stories section. The website shares how educational technology is being used in other districts. There are some great ideas. Here is the link.
It would be great to see more ideas shared on the website. Letting districts post their own "stories" would make it a great resource.
But.. they also have a facebook page for Educational Technology in General. The page has only 1,000 followers. This could be a great resource for interacting with other schools on how they are using technology to help their students. You can connect to the facebook page here.
That's all for today...
